Famke Janssen first started out as a fashion model. She moved to the United States in 1984 and signed with Elite Model Management. She worked with top brands such as Giorgio Armani, Victoria’s Secret etc. 

In 1988, she starred in a commercial for Exclamation, a perfume by Coty. Inc. This brought her to the mainstream media where her looks then were compared to Hedy Lamarr, the 40’s movie actress.

Famke Janssen starred on several series on television when she started out. She had a starring role in Star Trek: The Next Generation opposite Patrick Stewart. She would then go on to star with him in the X-men series.
